Ventilation systems are often the biggest culprit in poor indoor air quality. Make it a priority to inspect the ductwork of your home. If your HVAC has been operating for some time without attention, it could be circulating odors, dust and other contaminates.
The benefits of servicing your HVAC unit include:
- Helps to restore peak energy efficiency.
- May help to eliminate offensive odors.
- Helps reduce the potential for mold growth.
RESIDENTIAL AIR DUCT CLEANING FAQs
Why is the duct cleaning service necessary?
Duct cleaning is a service needed by today’s homeowner. Studies show that within the closed environment of the modern energy efficient home or office, the air inside can easily become more polluted than the air outside. Prime causes are dust, contaminants, and airborne bacteria re-circulating through soiled furnace and air conditioning ducts. To eliminate these contaminants the ducts should be cleaned annually to ensure a fresh, healthy home environment.
Your HVAC system and air ducts should be cleaned for the same reason that your home needs cleaning. Suppose that your home had not been cleaned for three to five years? Most homeowners keep very clean homes and they cannot believe what is commonly found in their ducts.
How long should it take to clean an average residential Duct system?
There are several factors that could affect the time needed to clean a residential duct system. These factors include the type of home, accessibility of duct work, number of systems and amount of duct work circulating the air in your home. Average size homes require 2 to 3 hours for two technicians. Our technicians will stay as long as necessary to thoroughly clean the entire system.
What are sanitizers, and why would they need to be used?
Sanitizers are anti-microbial chemicals applied to the interior surface of the air ducts and are designed to control microbial contamination. Before any sanitizers are used, the system must be thoroughly cleaned. It is critical that any anti-microbial treatment used in your system be EPA registered for use in HVAC systems. Ask to see the chemical’s Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). It should be noted that there are no EPA registered anti-microbial products for use on porous system surfaces, such as fiberglass surfaces.
THE CLEANCO DUCT CLEANING PROCESS is a unique dual action system. The ducting is simultaneously brushed and vacuumed along its available length. As the tight fitting vacuum brushes are pushed along the ducting dislodging the encrusted dirt from the walls, you can hear the powerful vacuum whisking it away. The sound alone indicates the thoroughness of the system. Other methods which simply blow air down the ducts, or vacuum alone, can’t match the effectiveness of the Cleanco process.
This system is as practical as it is hard working. All the soil is vacuumed into our specialized storage tank in our service vehicles.
TURBO SPINNER – Powerful Enough to Polish!
Leave ducts more than just clean…the powerful scouring action of the Cleanco IAQ Turbo Spinner quickly removes debris and pollutants from the wall of any duct.
Its nylon whipper’s are attached to a new turbine-like core that is driven by vacuum pressure. The spinning fibers work with the fixed brushes to scour the duct wall and vacuumed right out to the truck.
